Shaker Panel Shutters

Shaker Panel shutters are the quiet achievers of the shutter world — clean, versatile, and effortlessly adaptable to a wide range of architectural styles. Where Raised Panel shutters make their statement through dimension and shadow, Shaker Panel shutters draw their strength from simplicity. The uninterrupted panel surface puts the focus squarely on the wood itself, making this style a natural showcase for beautiful grain, rich color, and fine craftsmanship. Whether your home leans traditional, transitional, or decidedly modern, Shaker Panel shutters have a way of looking exactly right.

Wood Species

The wood species you choose shapes everything about your Shaker Panel shutters — how they age, how they perform, and how they look the day they go up. Each species we offer brings its own character to the table. Western Red Cedar and Cypress are natural performers with built-in resistance to moisture and decay. Spanish Cedar offers exceptional stability and a distinguished finish. White Oak brings density, strength, and a ray fleck grain pattern that is especially striking when displayed across a clean, uninterrupted panel face. Meranti Mahogany delivers deep, warm tones and a surface that takes paint or stain to a remarkably refined finish. If you prefer a painted finish right out of the box, our primed shutters arrive ready for your color of choice.

Rail Style

The rails and stiles of a Shaker Panel shutter do more than hold everything together — they frame the panel and define the proportions that make this style work. Our shutters are built with rail and stile dimensions scaled to the width of each shutter, ensuring the frame always feels balanced against the panel it surrounds. Narrower shutters feature slightly lighter framing, while wider shutters step up in dimension to maintain the right visual weight across the full face of the shutter. The simplicity of the Shaker Panel style means every detail matters — and ours are built with that in mind.

How to Size Shutters for Your Windows

A well-sized shutter makes all the difference — and with the clean lines of the Shaker Panel style, proper sizing is especially visible. As a general rule, each shutter in a pair should be half the width of the window opening, so that if the shutters were closed they would cover the window completely. For height, shutters should match the full height of the window from the top of the trim to the bottom. When in doubt, measure twice — a shutter that is even an inch off can affect the overall look more than most people expect. If you have questions about sizing for your specific windows, we are happy to help you get it right before you order.
